We recognize and have long standing discussion points with the development team that it is a pain point to not have live dimensions of the use zone or the ability to draw simple shapes.
The measure tool can be used to get the overall size of the structure, this is a little cumbersome to do though.
Another solution that we created while helping a sales rep is a grid system imported as a site plan. There are two .dwg files attached to assist with this.
While I recognize this is not the ideal long term solution, it may have some use while the developers add the tools to the program.
1. Inserting the grid site plan
Navigate to the 'Design Settings' menu and select the 'Actions' tab
The 'Import Drawing' button will take you into a file explorer to look for a .dwg (AutoCAD) file to import into EZD.
*It takes around 10-20 seconds to load the site in
2. Using the Grid
The grids have every 10' labeled and hash marks for every foot.
3. Turning off the grid
If you are making an output you probably do not want this grid shown, or you may want to turn it off to clean up the viewer.
Navigate to the 'Design Settings' menu and on the 'Playground' tab there will be an 'Include Underlay' checkbox. Uncheck this to turn off the grid, checking it will turn it back on.
