How to Enter a 2D Design Request

This article will take you through the steps to enter a 2D design request.

Things to Keep in Mind:  
A project must be created before you can enter requests.

A 2D design request must be entered before you can enter a 3D request.

A draft of your request will be saved each time you click 'Save & Continue" at the bottom of each step.  If you leave the Proposal Builder at any time,  you can find your draft for the request in the project or request pages and continue building it from there. 



 Step 1: Project

  1. Project name will autofill
  2. Enter a name for your proposal.  
    • This will be how all requests for this option will be identified. For example if this proposal is named “Option 1” for your Project titled “Smith Park” it will only be identified as “Option 1” on the 2D and 3D proposal materials.  Please be sure to enter the full name you would like seen on each of the documents and images.


Step 2: Inspiration

 

  1. List of proposals you have favorited from the search tool.  
    • You can select these to add them as inspiration for this request.
  2. List of panels you have favorited from the search tool.  
    • You can select these to add them as inspiration for this request.
  3. Link to the search tool for more inspiration.  
    • The search tool will open in a separate tab so you are able favorite and/or select more designs from this page to use for this request
  4. Selection to add a reference that is not in the search tool.  
    • Here you can upload additional files and/or additional notes explaining how to utilize this inspiration in the request.
  5. Notes:
    • Add notes to indicate what parts of the inspiration you want utilized or what changes you would like to see made to the design.
  6. *EZD Max users only -This is how to attach a specific EZ Design Max file you worked on to a request.
    1. You will see a link to open the list of designs from your personal sandbox
    2.  You will see any designs within the project the proposal is submitted under 

Step 3: Details



  1. Use the drop down to select size information
    • Unrestricted
      • Add any additional notes such as “keep use zone as small as possible”
  2. Use the drop down to select post material.
    • Steel (selected by default)
    • Aluminum
  3. Use the drop down to select Anchoring.
    • In ground (selected by default)
    • Surface Mount
      • Enter depth in inches 
  4. Use the drop down to select a contract if applicable
  5. Use the drop down to select where placemats should be used (none by default)
  6. Select additional details if applicable
    • Coastal Package (2% upcharge for paint package)
    • ADAAG Compliant (checked by default)
    • Need Engineering Drawings (hopefully adjust to “shade” drawings)
      • Use drop down to select type needed
  7. Use this space to attach supplementary pictures, CAD drawings, and other relevant documents pertaining to the site.



Step 4: Structure


  1. Age Groups - Select each age group that applies
  2. Overall Budget - Enter the Maximum List Price
  3. Additional Pricing Guidelines - Select “Additional Pricing Guidelines>>” to add a detailed breakdown
    • Use this to further divide your price either by phasing for order, age group distribution, or discount type
  4. Budget Flexibility - Use the drop down to indicate whether the budget is “firm” or “flexible”
  5. Theme (optional) - Enter a Custom 'Theme' for the design if applicable
    • ie. Baseball, Space, Barn/Farm, etc.
  6. Desired Color Theme (Color Selection)
    • Designer discretion for colors is marked by default
    • Use the drop down to switch to one of the color themes
      • Use the theme visualizer to see what these look like before selecting
    • Or select what color families you would like incorporated
    • Or customize colors for each component with overrides by type
    • Add any additional notes regarding the colors. 
      • For example: “Make swing top beam blue” or "balance and make them look good." 

Step 5: Features


  1. Select which Series lines you’d like used in your proposal
  2. Select which features you’d like to see in your proposal
    *Both these steps are optional, but can help communicate "must haves" to the designer

Final Notes and Review

  1. Add any additional notes for your request.
  2. Review your entries and edit them if necessary


Keep in mind, you will be able to edit your request details and add additional documents until the request status changes to "In Design."
