Components are organized in the Component Tree by Series Line, then by Category, as in old EZ Design.
Expand each Category by clicking the " > " arrow to the left of the Category name.
Components can also be found by using the Search function at the top of the Component Tree.
Note: Components will only appear in the Component tree, and will only provide a search result if their Series is selected on the Series Tab under Design Settings.
To insert a component, Click the Green " + " to the left of the Component Name.
Bright green spheres will appear in the viewer showing acceptable locations to insert the component.
Click on an available sphere to add the chosen component.
If you decide you do not want to add the component, press "ESC" on your keyboard to return to selecting items from the component tree.
Connection Types
Origin
- All components can be inserted at the Origin, identified by the blue, green and red intersecting lines
- Insert all Freestanding components at the Origin, as well as the Starting, or Anchor component of a composite structure.
Example:
Path
- Components that occupy a side of a platform use a Path Connection.
Examples:
- Platforms
- Panels
- Ground-to-platform Climbers
- Bridges and Ramps
- Slides
Post
- Use a Post Connection for components that can be rotated about a post.
Examples:
- Post-to-post or single post Climbers (e.g. Intensity)
- Single post panels
- Overheads
Stack
- Used to place a component directly above another
- For Roofs or Tower Platforms
Special
- Unique connection types exist for some components. Those components are often automatically populated by the EZ Design Max application, so the User won't need to add them manually.
