There are several buttons/functions that are used to adjust or manipulate equipment.

Edit Component Button – appears when a component is selected.

When clicked, it opens a window, used to adjust characteristics applied to the entire component:

Product Name

  • Displays Component Name and Product Number of the selected component.

Attached to

  • Displays the Parent Component to the selected component.

Rotate About Self (Component Number Displayed)

  • If the selected component has multiple attachment sides, the "CW" and "CCW" buttons will cycle through which side is attached to the parent component, skipping sides that are consumed by attachments to other components.

Rotate About Parent (Parent Name Displayed)

  • If the Parent Component (Attached to) has multiple attachment sides, the "CW" and "CCW" buttons will cycle through which side of the Parent Component the Selected Component is attached to, skipping sides that are consumed by attachments to other components.

X & Y Coordinates

  • Displays the X,Y location of the component in the design space.  For Anchor components, the values can be edited to move the component.

Rotation

  • Allows user to enter an angle value to rotate the component about its attachment point.
  • If a Parent Component, all Children components will also rotate in relation to the Parent.
  • If a Child Component, selected component will rotate about its attachment point to its Parent Component, if able.

Height

  • Allows user to adjust the vertical position of the selected Component, if able.
  • Non-incremental heights can be entered by clicking the "Custom" check box, and manually entering a value.
  • Adjusting a component's height may also trigger a height adjustment of any Children components, particularly if those components are attached via Path connections.

Reset Components

  • Resets any components that are auto-populated from the selected component to their default value. (See Auto-Populated Components section)

Group

  • Sets the Group that the selected component is assigned to.
  • If the Component has children components, those will also be set to the adjusted Group.

Colors

  • Allows user to adjust Color categories, applied to the entire component.  (See Colors section)

Attach/Detach

  • appears when a component is selected.

ATTACHING COMPONENTS

If the selected component is an Anchor component (is attached to the Origin, not attached to another component), the "Attach" button will appear.  This allows the user to attach the selected component to existing components in the design.

Clicking "Attach" will highlight the selected component and all children components, and display all available connection spheres.

Select the desired connection sphere on the component you want to attach.

Connection spheres will appear for all legal destination attachment locations for the component.

Select the desired destination connection sphere.

The component is now attached.

 DETACHING COMPONENTS

If the selected component is a Child component (is attached to another component, not attached to the Origin), the "Detach" button will appear.  This allows the user to detach the selected component from its parent component.

Clicking "Detach" will open the "Detach Component" window, prompting the user to enter values for "Offset X" and "Offset Y" (in inches).

Click "Detach" to proceed, or "Close" to cancel.

The detached component will move from its current location by those offset values.

The detached component becomes an Anchor component (attached to the Origin).

MOVE

  • appears when a component is selected.

(Above: Deck was selected and the "Move" button appeared in the bottom tool bar.)

The selected component and all other components connected to it (all generations of parent and children components) will be highlighted and the "Move" window will appear.

User is prompted to enter values for "Anchor X" and "Anchor Y" (in inches).

After entering a value, the selected equipment will move to the new coordinates.
