How to Enter an 'Other Design' Request

Modified on Thu, 17 Jul at 1:33 PM

"Other Design" requests are intended to be used for those requests that were previously sent via e-mail to individual designers that added to the design workload but weren't getting tracked or organized in any way.  Both the Playground Design and 3D Design teams utilize this request queue.  The "Other Design" request helps the teams stay organized and on top of your needs.  If you have any question about how a request should be entered or whether it should be an "Other Design" request, please reach out to designteam@bciburke.com and we'll be happy to assist!

You can enter an "Other Design" request like any other request from your "Requests" tab or from a specific project.  Below will guide you through both ways.

STEP 1: Using the "Requests" tab or "Projects" tab, select "Other Design"

Entering an "Other Design" Request Using the Requests Tab

1. Navigate to the play portal and click on "Requests" at the top of the page

2. Select "Other Design"

Entering an "Other Design" Request Through a Specific Project

1. Navigate to the project you want to enter the request for using the "Projects" tab

2. Click on "Add New Request" from the project view

3. Select "Other Design"

STEP 2: Enter the Appropriate Information

1. Select Project

  • If the request is for a specific project, please select it from the dropdown or create one using the link above the box

2. Select the associated 2D proposal or 3D request that corresponds to your request

  • Selecting one of these buttons "Add 2D Proposal" or "Add 3D Request" will provide another dropdown for you to select from:
  • A majority of the time this is possible, but sometimes for outlying requests that don't fit under a specific project, it may not be.  Please be sure to include detailed notes on what you need especially if not selecting a proposal number to guide us.

3. Name of Request

  • Please pay attention to the name and be as descriptive as possible when naming the request to help us identify what it contains at a glance.
  • This is the only indication of what the project is to us without opening it up to review

NOTE: "Other Request 1" does NOT help the team know what the request is before we open it.  At any given time there could be 20+ "Other Design" requests in queue.  Naming the request clearly helps the design team be more efficient and know who to direct the request to.

4. Comment

  • Provide as much detail as possible as to what's needed on the request in the "comment" box.  This and the proposal number are the only identifiers as to what is needed from the design team on the request.
